Built and used daily in a real Kumon center

Your center's whole day,
in one pod.

Sound familiar?

You didn't open a center to do data entry.

“The sign-in sheet is a mess and I'm retyping it after close.”

Students scan themselves in. Attendance is already recorded, stamped on time or late, before you lock up.

“A parent calls asking whether their kid actually showed up.”

They open the parent portal and see it themselves — this week, last month, on time or not.

“Payroll means adding up hours from a paper timesheet.”

Teachers clock in and out on the same system. Pick a date range and the hours are totalled for you.

Everything it does

One system, four doors.

Panda Pod covers the whole loop — a student arriving, a teacher running the room, you scheduling and paying people, and a parent checking in from the car. Here is the complete list, by who uses it.

The front desk

Check-in that runs itself

Put an iPad by the door. Students scan the QR on their worksheet card and check themselves in — nobody at the desk has to do anything.

  • Self-service QR check-in on any tablet, no app to install
  • Printable QR cards generated for every student
  • On-time or late decided automatically against that student's scheduled slot
  • Locked-down kiosk accounts — the tablet by the door can only scan, nothing else
  • No sign-in sheet to retype at the end of the day

Your teachers

A floor view built for a busy room

One screen for the whole session: who's expected, who's here, who's working, and who's running late.

  • Today's expected attendance with live on-time / late / absent / excused status
  • One-tap check in and check out per student
  • Study timers started and stopped per student, counting live
  • Override any status without leaving the screen
  • Parent late notices appear on the floor the moment they're sent
  • Compact layout that fits a full roster on one screen for hours of use

You, the owner

Scheduling, rosters and payroll

Everything you'd otherwise keep in three spreadsheets and your head, in one place you can hand to a new hire.

  • Visual weekly schedule — drag on the grid to create a slot
  • Per-teacher capacity caps so you can't quietly overbook a session
  • Filter by teacher, by student, or see the whole center
  • Student roster with math and reading levels, deactivated rather than deleted so history survives
  • Teacher roster with hourly rates and a payroll preview for any date range
  • Staff time clock — teachers clock in and out, hours feed payroll
  • Parent accounts linked to children, with invitations sent in bulk
  • Announcements to the parent portal, your public page, or emailed to families

Your families

Parents stop calling to ask

The three questions you get every week — when is class, did they go, are they behind — answered before anyone picks up the phone.

  • This week's schedule and today's class at a glance
  • Attendance history so parents can see the pattern themselves
  • Send a late or absent notice with an ETA and a reason, straight to the floor
  • Center announcements in the portal and by email
  • More than one child on a single login, with a switcher
  • Works on a phone — most parents will never open it on a laptop

Four separate sign-ins

Owner, teacher, parent and check-in tablet each get their own door. A teacher can't reach your rosters or payroll; the iPad by the door can't reach anything at all.

Bring your students with you

Bulk-import your existing roster from a spreadsheet on day one instead of typing a hundred names.

Email that's already written

Welcome emails, temporary passwords and announcement sends are built in — you don't configure a mail tool.

Temporary passwords, forced reset

Issue a staff or parent login in a click. They're required to set their own password the first time they sign in.

Dark mode throughout

Evening sessions under classroom lighting are a lot easier on everyone. Follows the device, or set it yourself.

Nothing to install

It's a website. Phones, iPads, the old desktop at the front desk — if it has a browser, it works.

Included free

Your center gets its own page on the web.

Most centers either have no website or one nobody has updated since it was built. Every Panda Pod center gets a clean, fast page at its own address — and it stays current on its own, because it is fed by the system you are already using.

Your own address — paloaltostudentcenter.pandapod.app, yours to put on flyers, Google and the door.

Announcements publish themselves. Post a closure once; it appears on your page, in the parent portal, and in families' inboxes.

Hours, address, phone and a map link — the things parents actually search for, always right.

Parent sign-in built in, so existing families land in the portal from the same page new ones use to find you.

Nothing to maintain. No hosting bill, no plugin updates, no web person.

Included on both plans — no extra charge

Questions

The things owners ask first.

Is this only for Kumon centers?

No. It was built in a Kumon center, so the vocabulary fits — worksheets, levels, daily sessions — but nothing in it is Kumon-specific. Mathnasium, Sylvan, and independent tutoring centers run the same way: scheduled slots, students arriving after school, attendance that matters, and parents who want to know how it's going.

Do students need their own logins?

No, and that's deliberate. Students are records, not accounts — there is no password for a seven-year-old to forget and no child login to secure. They check themselves in by scanning the QR code on their worksheet card. Only you, your teachers, your parents, and the check-in tablet have accounts.

What do I need for the check-in kiosk?

Any tablet with a browser and a camera, stood up by the door. An older iPad is fine. There is no app to install and no hardware to buy — you sign the tablet in once with a kiosk account and leave it on that screen.

Can I bring my existing student list?

Yes. Import your roster from a spreadsheet on day one rather than typing names in one at a time. If your list is messy, send it over during your free months and we'll help you get it in.

What happens after the 3 free months?

You pick a plan and billing starts — $40 a month billed annually, or $60 a month billed monthly. Your three months begin when your center actually goes live, not the day you sign up, so getting set up doesn't burn through them.

What if I want to leave?

On the monthly plan you cancel whenever you like. Either way, your center's data is yours: ask and you get an export of your students, attendance and time-clock history in a spreadsheet format you can keep.

Who can see my families' information?

Each role has its own sign-in and only reaches its own part of the system. Teachers see the floor and their own hours, not your rosters or payroll. Parents see only their own children. The check-in tablet can do exactly one thing — scan — which matters because it sits unattended by the door.

Do parents have to download anything?

No. It's a website that works on a phone. Parents get an email invitation, set a password, and that's it — no app store, no install, nothing to update.

Try it for a full term.

Three months is long enough to get through a real term — enrollment, absences, a holiday closure, a payroll run — and decide with your own center's data whether it's worth keeping.
